PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE - Mrs. Kali McMorris
The words of Francis Wayland Parker, “The end and aim of all education is the development of character”, are embedded in the annals of the Convent of Mercy Academy. They embody the spirit of Alpha, the core belief that fostering wholesome, meaningful lives is the true goal of education. This holistic view forms the bedrock of Catholic Educational philosophy as well as the Mercy tradition which offers a commitment to meeting the current needs of children.
My own educational philosophy can be summed up in two words - relevance and principle. I believe that education must be intentional, focused and dynamic to prepare students for the challenges of the world they face. It must provide the knowledge and skills needed to maneuver in an ever-changing world- above all it must provide the ability to learn and adapt, to problem solve and to create. Moreover, education must develop in each student identity based on sound values which lead to the practice of ethical decision making and responsible citizenship.
A student from CMA ‘Alpha’ leaves with a sense of service to neighbor, respect and recognition of the dignity of others and a desire to achieve excellence in all pursuits.
I am proud and humbled to share in this heritage and am confident that together as family, we will continue to build on this solid foundation, to etch our name in the ‘Monkey Tamarind Tree’ of national and global life.
We live our motto, “To The Good and The True”.
In Peace and Mercy
